OUTING – MOUNTAIN BIKING
Tokai Forest
There are several tracks that crisscross the Tokai arboretum and pine plantation, which are part of the Table Mountain National Park. You need to bring your own bike. There are longer rides with splendid panoramas and the short Faery Garden track through the forest which is great for beginners.
It is situated on the Tokai Road off the M3. Buy your day pass at the picnic side on your right hand before you reach the manor house.

In the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, 9 km from Stellenbosch, there are tracks for all levels of riders with nice cuts through the forest. You can rent a mountain bike or bring your own.
For bike rental and kiddies cycling workshops, contact Tinus Du Preez at the restaurant (021-8661550). There are 26 bikes for hire, of which 6 small and 6 medium sized bikes are for children. Tinus organises cycling workshops for children on request because there are many advantages to learning the right riding skills from a young age.
